i just stumbled upon a super nice film about the evolution and progress of big wave surfing in 3 episodes on latimes.com, called Chasing the Swell. i especially find the second one very interesting as they talk about wipe outs and hold downs and alike - just insane! make sure to take your time and watch all of them.

Life Cycles Trailer

my friend Roman pointed me to this official trailer of Life Cycles - another obviously brilliant bike movie on similar lines as The Collevtive Films. if the trailer lives up to its promise, this flick is going to be thumping. i love the variation in shots, ranging from totally sick tricks to absolutely breathtaking scenery. dolly rides and slow-mo's are by far nothing uncommon in this genre but i think it depends a lot how well it's being executed, yet this trailer sets a damn good example. can't wait to see the movie..
